The easier part of embarking on such a task is probably the build-your-own PC part. PC parts and kits to build your own are available at several online stores and can be purchased on the cheap at eBay. Essentials required are a chassis (to house the

innards) an Intel motherboard, a hard drive, memory (RAM), a video adapter and a DVD drive. Once you have everything properly connected and seated, the PC should boot up into BIOS. In BIOS, you can set the DVD as the primary boot drive.

Next comes the trickier part, getting Mac OS X Leopard installed on the machine. A “patched” Leopard install DVD is needed. With the patched version one can install Leopard straight to a PC with the help of a text editor to run commands. Once the patch is installed, the OS can be installed from the DVD. The install will begin by loading the Disk Utility, which will let you format the disk so that Leopard can be loaded. After this disk format, the installation of the OS is just a series of clicks in a graphical interface. Once installed, there is a post install patch that has to be applied.

Adam Pash, a senior editor for Lifehacker, has step-by-step instructions for building a Hackintosh. Pash claims that if you can snap Legos together, you can do build a hotrod PC running Leopard for under $800. I looked at the Apple Store, and a similarly equipped iMac goes for $2200. That includes a 20-inch LCD monitor, which is not included in Pash’s configuration. So even if we generously add $400 for a spiffy flat-panel monitor, the Hackintosh comes in at about $1000 cheaper.

Is It Safe and Legal?

Sounds great, right? Well there are a couple of issues with Hackintosh machines, as evidenced by various message boards and tech forums. One issue is the debate about the motherboard. Some Hackintoshers claim they built their machines using standard Intel motherboards. Others swear by an ASUS board. There also seems to be a problem with drivers not loading or being recognized which means there is a chance that some peripherals will not work correctly.

The biggest issue is the ongoing debate of the legality of embarking on such a task. Apple’s End User License Agreement states that Apple software is to be run on Apple hardware. Although there is no record of the company seeking prosecution against Hackintosh builders, the ethics of building one is questionable. I doubt that Apple would send goons in dark glasses to your door for building one, but if you started a business of selling custom-built Hackintosh computers, all bets are off.

Building a Frankenstein-esque machine can always lead to potential problems and nightmares with troubleshooting. Langkah 1. Mendapatkan-siap

* Burn DVD Image ke sebuah Single Layer DVD-R menggunakan perangkat lunak seperti Nero.
* Format USB Flash Drive dan dorongan label harus “Patcher” tanpa tanda kutip. Harap dicatat itu harus “Patcher” saja dan tidak ada hal lain untuk patch untuk bekerja ketika kita menerapkan itu nanti.
* Ekstrak file Zip dan memasukkan isinya ke dalam USB Flash Drive.
* Sekarang Drive USB harus mengandung suatu folder bernama “file”, jika tidak maka periksa untuk melihat di mana Anda telah pergi salah.

Langkah 2. Instalasi Leopard

* Sekarang bahwa Anda memiliki Patched DVD dengan Anda, kini Anda dapat menginstal Leopard. Pop di DVD ke dalam drive dan boot ke dalamnya dengan menekan F12 pada BIOS Prompt.
* Boot ke DVD dan installer seharusnya tampil. Ini memakan waktu cukup lama, jadi bersabarlah.
* Pilih Bahasa Anda dan pastikan Anda memilih Customize dan Anda perlu hapus pilihan semua paket yang ditampilkan.
* Leopard sekarang akan menginstal. Ini bisa berlangsung agak lama, jadi ambil sendiri kopi.

* Setelah di-load setup pilih Bahasa Anda. Setelah selesai Anda sekarang harus melihat Welcome Screen. Begitu ada arahkan ke Utilities-Terminal.
* Setelah beban terminal, anda sekarang perlu untuk browse ke Drive USB anda, maka ikutilah langkah-langkah di bawah ini, mengetik persis seperti yang tertera di bawah ini di Terminal. Pada command line ketik sebagai berikut mereka muncul di sini

cd ..
cd ..
cd Volumes
cd Patcher
cd file

Perhatikan ruang antara cd dan 2 titik.
* Now its waktu untuk menjalankan Patcher untuk memastikan Leopard akan bekerja pada PC Anda. Ketik berikut ke dalam Terminal. ./9a581PostPatch.sh
* The Patch sekarang harus dijalankan. Anda dapat menjawab Ya sambil mengeluarkan ACPUPowerManagement.kext
* Setelah Script selesai, anda sekarang harus mampu Boot ke Leopard setelah Anda me-restart.

Langkah 4. Selamat! Anda telah melakukan hal yang Mustahil!

Nah itu dia. Harap dicatat ini belum diuji secara luas, sehingga sebagian besar dari Hardware anda seperti Sound, Network mungkin tidak bekerja. 3. Mulai UltraISO, arahkan ke File-> Buka dan menemukan citra ISO dari Windows 7 dan membukanya.

4.Dalam tab lokal yang terletak di bagian kiri bawah, pilih Drive USB anda. (Double periksa untuk memastikan hal ini adalah drive yang Anda ingin membuat bootable)
5.Sekarang klik Bootable-> Write Disk Image dari Menu

6.Pada kotak dialog yang muncul, klik Write untuk menulis gambar ke pena USB drive. (Opsional anda juga dapat memeriksa Verifikasi, ini akan memeriksa data yang ditulis untuk setiap kesalahan)

7. Tunggu selama itu untuk menyelesaikan, dan selamat Anda baru saja membuat sebuah bootable windows7 Instalasi menggunakan USB Pen Drive.
8. Restart komputer Anda dan tekan F2/F9 saat boot up, untuk boot dari Pen Drive dan lanjutkan untuk menginstal windows7 seperti kamu akan melakukan sebaliknya menggunakan sebuah DVD.

Hack Attack : Share Internet over WiFi in Windows 7

// Windows 7 has come with many new features that are under the hood. One such feature is the native support to create Wireless Ad Hoc Networks. While the built in functionality of Windows7 does not allow you to share your internet connection over the Wireless network you create, third party tools like the very popular Connectify make this task easier and more secure.

But the one thing that I didn’t like about Connectify is its interface. It just doesn’t blend with the interface of Windows7. Have a look at the screenshot below that shows Connectify in action :

What Connectify does is create a Virtual WiFi connection that anyone can connect to, just as it were a access point. Today I came across another app called Virtual Router that does the same job, but albeit in a much more intuitive way.

To start just install the app and fire it up. Enter the name for the network, a password and choose the connection you want to share and just hit start Virtual Router. And moments later you should have an active Wireless network you can share.

Virtual Router is Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 only, because only they have the new built in Wireless Hosted Network(a.k.a Virtual WiFi) technology. It uses WPA2 Encryption for ensuring security and this encryption cannot be turned off.

How is Virtual WiFi different from Ad-Hoc? Ad-Hoc is best suitable if you are connecting two computers and can be used to share files, while tools such as Connectify and Virtual Router allow you to share the internet connection with multiple number of computers.

Well its been only a day since the Mac OSX Leopard was released officially by Apple and the hackers have managed to create a patched DVD that everyone like you and me can use to install Leopard on PC’s without having to buy a Mac. Please note the tutorial that I am going to post is still experimental and things might not work the right way simply because it is still early days in hacking Leopard to work on PC’s. Well if you don’t mind your PC getting screwed then go ahead and try out this tutorial.

Make sure you backup all important data before you proceed. Here are the things that you will need before Install Leopard on your PC…

• The Patched DVD Image
• The zip file containing the patch
• One pen drive or USB Flash Drive formatted as FAT32

Well once you have all these you can go ahead and Install Leopard..

Step 1. Getting things ready

• Burn the DVD Image onto a Single Layer DVD-R using a software like Nero.
• Format the USB Flash Drive and the drive label should be “Patcher” without the quotes. Please note it has to be “Patcher” only and nothing else for the patch to work when we apply it later.
• Extract the Zip file and put its contents into the USB Flash Drive.
• Now your USB Drive should contain a folder called “files”, if it doesn’t then check to see where you have gone wrong.

Step 2. Installing Leopard

• Now that you have the Patched DVD with you, you can now install Leopard. Pop in the DVD into the drive and boot into it by pressing F12 at the BIOS Prompt.
• Boot into the DVD and the installer should now load. It take a while though, so be patient.
• Select your Language and make sure you select Customize and you need to deselect all the packages that are displayed.
• Leopard will now install. This can take a while, so go grab yourself a coffee.
• It will ask you to Reboot, so go ahead and Reboot. Before rebooting make sure that USB Flash Drive is connected to the PC.

Step 3. Patching Leopard

• Now that you have got Leopard installed, you need to patch it. Before we do that Boot into the Leopard DVD like the way you did before.
• Wait for the Darwin Bootloader to load. Once it loads up press F8. You should now see a prompt. Type -s and hit enter. The DVD will now load in Verbose mode. Watch for any errors. It should load without a problem because you have already installed Leopard.
• Once the setup is loaded select your Language. Once done you should now be seeing the Welcome Screen. Once there navigate to Utilities-Terminal.
• Once the terminal loads up, you now need to browse to your USB Drive, so follow the steps below, typing it exactly as it appears below in the Terminal. In the command line type the following as they appear here

  cd ..
  cd ..
  cd Volumes
  cd Patcher
  cd files

  Notice the space between cd and the 2 dots.

• Now its the time to run the patcher to make sure Leopard will work on your PC. Type the following into the Terminal. ./9a581PostPatch.sh
• The Patch should now run. You can answer Yes while removing the ACPUPowerManagement.kext
• After the Script is done, you should now be able to Boot into Leopard after you restart.

Step 4. Congratulations! You’ve done the Impossible!

Well that was it. Please note this has not been extensively tested, so most of your Hardware like Sound, Network may not work. If something goes wrong for you or you want to help us, then please join the discussion over at OSX86Scene. If you noticed I haven’t posted the links to the Torrent that contains the DVD image and the zip. Well I haven’t posted them because I am sure the lawyers over at Apple are going to sue the hell out of me. If you wondering where you can find them, then head over to Demonoid and search for it.

Some Updates and Clarifications :

• This Hack works on Intel PC’s with atleast SSE3
• You need to format your Leopard Partition to HFS+
• Make Sure you install Leopard on MBR and not GUID or it won’t boot.

There seem to be guides all over the internet, that allow you to create your own Bootable Windows7 Installation on a Pen Drive. Whilst not overly complicated, these methods have enough of nonsense to scare the beginners away.

So read on to find out how you can install Windows7 on your computer using a USB Pen Drive, without all the pain of burning DVD’s etc…

Lets get started then, here are the requirements before we proceed :

• A Windows7 ISO Image (Any Version will do)
• UltraISO (It isn’t free, but the trial version is sufficient for this guide)
• A 4+ GB Pen Drive

Let’s begin then..

1. Download and Install UltraISO (Free Trial)
2. Plug in the pen drive into your PC, and backup everything that you need from the Pen Drive, because all the existing data will be wiped off the pen drive.
3. Start UltraISO, navigate to File->Open and locate the ISO image of Windows 7 and open it.
4. In the local tab located at the bottom left, select your USB Drive. (Double check to make sure this is the drive you want to make bootable)
5. Now click Bootable->Write Disk Image from the Menu
6. In the dialog box that appears, click Write to write the image onto the USB pen drive. (Optionally you can also check Verify, this will check the data written for any errors)
7. Wait it for it to complete, and congratulations you’ve just created a bootable Windows7 Installation using USB Pen Drive.
8. Restart your computer and press F2/F9 while booting up, to boot from the Pen Drive and proceed to install Windows7 just like you’d do otherwise using a DVD.

[Bonus]

Want an even easier solution to install Windows7 using your USB Pen Drive. Go ahead and grab a copy of WinToFlash. Extract the contents of the Zip Archive and open WinToFlash.exe. You should now see a screen as shown..

Click the “Huge” Windows Setup Transfer Wizard and you should now see something like this. Enter the appropriate details and bang you can create the bootable disk in less than a couple of simple steps.

I’ve heard one thing many times that Ultra Surf is slowing down net speed or Ultra Surf is not working or something like that but after so many experience of Q&A and personal experience I’ve found that it’s not the Ultra Surf but it’s the net connection that has problems…..

• Check your net connection remember that it needs certain level of net speed to run Ultra Surf smoothly.
• check proxy settings of Ultra Surf, when u download fresh version u need to tweak proxy settings of Ultra Surf. do that manually, also sometimes proxy setting of Ultra Surf get vanished automatically.. do check for proxy setting and feed it manually. For any kind of browser Proxy IP address
  

  is 127.0.0.1 with port :9666 and For Ultra Surf it depends upon your network.

• 8.8 is the latest one and it is the best because when there is no net connectivity it automatically flashes a message…. it won’t hang u there for retry
• also last tip is that when net slows down or ain’t working at all, just exit Ultra Surf and re start it. instead of retry.. try exit and re start it…trust me retry is bad idea. just restart the whole thing.

• If you are using browser other than IE, then you have to manually change your proxy IP address to 127.0.0.1 with port :9666 of Firefox browser.
• Mac Users, change your proxy IP address to 127.0.0.1 with port :9666 of Safari browser.

FlyakiteOSX is a transformation pack. It will transform the look of an ordinary Windows XP+ system to resemble the look of Mac OS X. The installer simply automates the process of replacing critical system files, setting registry tweaks, and installing extras such as cursors, sounds, visual styles, etc. FlyakiteOSX DOES NOT contain any spyware or ad-ware of any kind. When mine came back up, I was greeted with this (kind of odd seeing Mac OS X right under “Welcome to Windows”):

You can do some further customization by altering the settings and options of the 3rd party applications. By right-clicking the icons for WinRoll and Y’z Shadow (in the notification area next to your clock), you can access their preference and options windows.

You can also right-click on the Dock bar to change it’s options as well.

If you ever decide that you no longer wish to look Macish, simply uninstall the transformation pack and you’ll be back to the XP look in no time.
